Robin Capehart is currently a senior resident fellow with the Public Policy Foundation of West Virginia and a senior consultant with Georgetown Solutions, an education consulting firm. Robin Capehart formerly served as the president of West Liberty University from 2007 to 2015. During that time, he concurrently held positions as the chairman and legislative liaison for the West Virginia Council of Presidents, as well as administrative posts with multiple other professional organizations. Mr. Capehart earlier directed the tax studies program and taught as an associate professor at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.
Over the course of his career, he served the state of West Virginia as a chief administrative law judge and a cabinet secretary of the Department of Tax and Revenue. He is also an accomplished attorney who holds a Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law and a Masters of Law in Taxation from Georgetown University. His accomplishments as an attorney include operating his own law firm for seven years and, for five of those years, serving simultaneously as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Marshall County.
